I was asked to share a few comments at her celebration of life.
A few years ago she wrote this for my Question of the Week group. Today I shared it at her Celebration. The son who is referred to in it was really moved by hearing this for the first time:
“What makes me happy? Helpful phone calls… recently got a good one. Last night one of my far- flung grown children called and I told him a bit of my forthcoming trip plans. He was interested, then volunteered: “If you ever get into any kind of trouble when you’re away, just phone me and I’ll head to the airport and be there – anywhere in the world – in 8 to 12 hours!” He claimed to know how to get a replacement passport, or money, anywhere. I’m not expecting to test this offer, but it was nice to get it.” – Liz F
A friend’s offer to help with the install of this ‘kitchen unit’ was such a comfort. So many obstacles along the way, and together we solved them. Time and again, talking about them surfaced a unique path to solution. repeatedly since then there’s been an overwhelming flood of appreciation for his generous effort in the removal of the old, and the install of the new. No shortcuts.
