Turning the tables at an interview

Recently went to an undergraduate counselor to plan out my graduation, and I asked her “What is an area of your life that you want to improve?” She said that she doesn’t get involved in the community and on campus outside of her job, so she wants to volunteer more to end the trend. Maybe even become a traveler!
Enriching the conversations with customers
From work a few days ago, I got chatting up one of our regulars and found out she recently was motivated to live out her decades-long dream of writing a children’s book. She spent thousands of dollars and has been working with a publishing company for the last year making this dream a reality. We could have talked for hours but I felt like I had to get back to work.
I told her I was getting into gardening and it turns out she was looking for someone to make use of her huge garden space and heritage seeds that she had no time to use. I told her I’d keep her posted when I felt more knowledgable — I’m really excited about this!!
Went to see Katie McNally from Boston, ‘one of the most innovative voices in acoustic music in North America, with genre-bending pianist Neil Pearlman and violist Shauncey Ali; are performing an evening of tunes bursting from the Scottish and Cape Breton traditions.’ It so reminded us of the music we heard when we visited Prince Edward Island a few years ago. And like in PEI, the musicians were very accessible afterwards. Great spirit.
