What stood out in an interesting strnater
I meet so many people at Shatterbox and we generally only have a few minutes together before they’re off carrying on with their day, but recently, a customer who’s been a regular for months now had an extra few minutes to talk. Being a coffee shop near several government buildings means I overhear snippets of bureaucratic conversation and sometimes it’s less than encouraging what one hears. But this customer, a fairly high-level bureaucrat, had some very encouraging things to say, and during our conversation, it became abundantly clear that she was actually in the public service. Not simply as an employee of the public sector, but as someone working for the public good – and passionately too. I guess that’s what stood out about her in our discussion, simply that she was passionate about her work. It was refreshing.
