Somehow the Barista found me three blocks away, down the street and around the corner. How did she find me? Why did she bother? Deep gratitude, and a degree of faith restored in people.
She replied, ” I went to my aerobics class, and I enjoyed it.”
Later the cashier asked, ” Do you two know each other?”
Interesting that it’s assumed that you have to be friends or acquaintances to have a good conversation, to break past the superficial.
What a cool write up. I’m discovering that the conversations with strangers are full of the pleasantly unexpected, variety, meaning, and usually go well. They’re becoming valued more and more.
