Campus Caring Project
The Campus Caring Project is focused on helping students, staff and faculty’s transform our university experience through fresh ways to navigate and find value on campus.
Members of the campus community, and beyond, are invited to post their personal ways to connect, engage and discover fresh ways [ hacks] to navigate, to add more value to their day, and share them on our Instagram account, Campus Caring Project
Here’s an example of how a new student used a simple way to get connected, to navigate in her classes and across campus, and end up developing a wide range of social contacts.

Giving a hand to someone on campus revealed rich stories, examples of making a career of sharing stories and connections.

When I phoned Vancity about glitches in downloading and verifying a new Vancity app. The agent answered my questions and then suggested the best thing to do is remove the app and download another copy. He stayed with me on the line through the entire process. Felt super cared-for.
Cool story about the bike I got when I was staying with you. I wasn’t riding it. An 82 yr old fellow on the strata council here found out that I was giving it away so he took it. He’s overjoyed like a kid. Took it for a ride last week and loves it!
Turns out this fellow is still a designer of Vegas showgirl costumes. Hopes to get back travelling and doing it again post covid..at 82!!!
A friend shared this me…
“I was on the ferry tonight with my grandson and we had lots of stairs to come down. My knee is much better now but he didn’t know that and offered me his arm to help me down the stairs. I was so touched that he is so thoughtful and caring to want to help me out😇”
When a crowd at a Fernwood Pub did the unexpected and went out of their way for a last minute song at an open mic night, it changed the life of a visitor that night.
