Christopher’s passion for travel has led him participate in international exchange programs both during high school and university while pursuing a business degree from UVic. He now speaks 4 languages and spent 5 years in Mexico managing a dive resort. For the past 5 years he has dedicated his energies to viewing and helping save the Southern Resident Killer Whales. His passion for the whales and customer service contribute to Eagle Wing’s ranking as the#1 whale watching company in Victoria.

I thought Christopher was very informative with his information and had alot of passion for his job. I learned all the different languages he spoke and what he was doing to help save our community and our fellow whales 🙂 <3
its so cool.like he can speak four langusge. and he can make his job keep fresh. he knows how to run a business like how to make the customers happy.i feels like we need to choose the job what we like, cauze that would make us keep doing it and do better and better.
I learned that you are able to adopt whales. You can also that the company that he works at donates 1% of their profits to charities. A story that really stood out to me was about how they can identify different whales and even have names for them, like Cookie.
The company donates 1% of their profits to the 1% Charity.
Originally the pods and the Orcas that made up the pods were named by number. The company still refers to the “number-name”, but they have also given the Orcas real names, such as Oreo.
What is green washing- green washing is a kind of new markting, for example, some hotel do not washing towal everyday, this is green washing.
Christopher Mellet’s company use 1% to protect the kilowhale. There are not many company in Victoria downtown do that.
How to keep the business fresh: for example, maybe the customers grandson shared some birthday with th e whale.
I learned about the adopt a whale program which sounds really cool. I learned that to keep customers happy you really have to meet their expectations. If you can keep their expectations and results fine, you can stay at the top of your field. It takes dedication and a dream to get started, but it can be really rewarding. I also learned what “green-washing” is and how it is a problem.
