What’s Gone Well Today ® at School
What’s Gone Well Today at School is a question, in fact a movement designed to shift our thinking, to bring out the best in our own experiences at school, with the friends and new faces in our classes . We’re encouraging students and teachers to share experiences that have gone well. We hope that people will find more highlights in their day, and share what they are enjoying in their learning and playing at school.
This was a fantastic week. we got to use chalk pastels. We drew a portrait of Fall colours and the reflection the water. It was outstanding. We drew a 3d house for our characters.then we used water colour pencil crayons.
I had a spectacular week! We got to make a fall scene out of chalk pastels. It was so messy my mom had to wash my clothes once I got home. Also I got to go to the Body Worlds Exhibit at Science World. It was really weird and Cool at the same time. Also we got to make 3 D Houses for our characters book. Then we got to colour them with watercolour pencil crayons. It was so much fun. After that we got to make them on the national library of virtual manipulatives. Before all of the fun things that we did on the school days, we got to celebrate Thanksgiving.
What A Great Week!
what a great post william! can’t wait until next week!
We did some art this afternoon….fall reflections using chalk pastels, very consuming….one of the girls said “you are the best teacher I have ever had, I LOVE being in your class”!
It was a good day
On Friday the kids wrote in their WWWthisW journals and the entries were fabulous.
Also on Friday a group of students asked if they could start writing a song
I asked what they thought they may write about and they said….our feelings…
I will look forward to their process.
On Thursday we started our writing program where the kids create a character and write about it in first person….they love it!…..at the end of the day a group of them were begging to stay at school and keep working!
ok here’s my story for today…..felt bad yesterday when a grade 12 student gave me a hard time about coming down on some students for talking in class: ” do you really think this is the best way for us to learn, sitting here listening to you talk for an hour?….I get it that they shouldn’t talk when you’re talking but just chill….don’t get so angry”…so I thanked him for his input ( calmly, no sarcasm) and moved on. Mulled it over all the way home, conceding he did have a valid point, but still it had been a bit of a shock….anyway this morning he shows up and give me a thumbs up and a big smile:) All is right with the world again
