I always have an eye for how stories can help further community development. Lunch with Denise Savoie, MP … yielded so many stories of great community projects and the ways that community leaders can further them.
I love where tech brings people together. Our daughter going to the UK helped prompt me to reactivate my use of Skype.. and adding it to my iPhone. Revolutionary!
Included was a stop at the local ticket office to buy some tickets for Leonard Cohen. There our daughter heard the ticket agent give her spiel and was able to share timely advice on the best seats to get… Then back on the bike for more great heartfelt conversation on a beautiful sunny afternoon.
Today I got a call while I was on my bike in downtown Victoria, BC. It was my daughter in London, UK .. and we talked ‘all the cycle ride home’.. about 1/ 2 and hour..
All the tools I’ve got flowing.. Skype, FB, txt are all helping me support others in their journeys. The level of engagement brings similar comments along the lines of ‘ Thanks for the advice today… It really pushed me’
There’s a lot of uncertainty, and I’m learning to be very grateful for the basics, waking up without power in a ghetto temporary room…

I feel so grateful to be connected to people whom I love from far away. I feel very connected and supported, a very close link. Also amazing to be getting support from new friends and strangers too, in a massive new city.
