Needing to buy some groceries in a new-to-me part of lower eastside of Vancouver, I called out to a passerby for their suggestion. She told me of Donald’s a few blocks away. Great pick. So friendly and well equipped.

A 6 yr old’s quest for adventure can change an afternoon. Letting her be the guide in forest trails is part of the magic.( All this within a block or so of home!) She saw a duck, a bunny, a squirrel, butterfly and a robin.
She was covering for the regular receptionist, and locked herself out from the office. Yet in the time she was waiting for ‘backup’ she exuded such customer service and engagement! Far better than the regular one who sits behind a terminal screen with zero warmth or acknowledgement.

A party house got new tenants so I knocked on their door and welcomed them to the ‘hood. I asked if they wanted any recycling tips as an unsightly collection was building. They were very receptive…and appreciative. Also found a local high school student to cut their lawn. Everyone wins.
