One busy day awhile ago I was in crowded area in town waiting for a bus. I’d been making some effort to stay happy and see good in all these people patiently waiting, too. Suddenly a young man’s voice asked “Did anyone loose a watch?” I looked at my bare wrist, and the one dangling from his fingers at my eye level was mine! I thanked him most warmly, and we all got on the bus, with watch still working, a good deed done, and very much appreciated.
What went well for me today, was a bizzar incident where I lost my car keys on Mr. Tolmie, and had a meeting to get to in half an hour, and both dogs with me. I walk up there almost every day and I have gotten to know a young man who has been working on a building project. We always smile, say good morning, how’s it going?
Well today, I was well prepared: dressed for my meeting, and was ready to go home from my dog walk, and found I had locked the car with everything in it, and no keys. I got frantic, and ran around looking. In about 60 seconds I realized there was no hope in finding them. So out of the blue I asked this young man (Jordy) if he would consider giving me a ride home. He said “sure.” However we had to fit two dogs, and me in my meeting best into his very high off the ground jeep. Monty got frightened, jumped in and then out. Mitch took off for our car. Finally with dogs in, we had to get me in. Now You know I’m a country girl , and tractors and jeeps are part of my early life. But I tried frontways (with my narrow skirt), and finally had to have a mighty heave up from my knight in shining armour (Jordy). He drove me home with a smile. I’m trying to contact his boss, who Jordy says is a great guy, but I can’t find them in the telephone book. Think I will leave a note on their building project.
What went well for me today was to know there are fabulous young people out there, ready to help, without degrading a silver haired lady in distress (not to mention her two dogs).
I found out from someone that Christopher from the organisation mentioned me & how interesting I was.
Would love to work with you on ChangeEverything.ca to get this meme out there!
