Kel Kelly — In our changing world there is something that remains a constant, we need to get along, to resolve differences of opinion, to reach common understandings on contentious issues. . This guest’s work as a mediator for twenty years has seen him play many roles in the Comox Valley and beyond. He works to help individuals , groups and businesses solve their disputes. His deep interest in people living and working together harmoniously has led him into politics, music and sustainable living, in the Valley and India, where his current project is building his own home in a tribal village. Rebecca Berry has worked as an Event Planner for the last 10 years. She started as a receptionist with an Event Planning Company and through a combination of good fortune and hard work, she had worked her way up to Events Manager with the well known TED Conference within 2 years. Her work has taken her to many beautiful places including Whistler, Banff, California, Texas, New York and internationally to Tanzania, Africa. Rebecca believes that a base of integrity, kindness and dedication are what will ultimately make you successful in life, even when it is not the easiest or most popular route to take. This moto has certainly worked for her!

Les Lengyel View video, student feedback

Les Lengyel is currently a business consultant with extensive experience in land development, retail, accounting and all the major resource industries. He was the President of the Campbell River Chamber of Commerce in 1999 and 2001. He was an executive director of the BC Chamber of Commerce from 1999 – 2002. He served as president of the Campbell River Daybreak Rotary Club in 2008.Currently les is a member of the Campbell River Community Partnership Commission and a stakeholder member of the Campbell River Sustainable Official Community Plan review.
Les was in an electrical accident when he was 7 years old, causing the complete loss of his left arm and right thumb, leaving him with only the partial use 4 fingers on his right hand. He challenges all of us to move beyond our handicaps and live an extraordinary life of personal adventure and leadership. Read what students say
