Vic Derman, Saanich city councillor .. bio

Vic is a retired school teacher from District 62 and used to coach basketball against Arbutus. During my teaching career, environmental issues were always front and centre. He was one of 5 co-founders of The Land Conservancy of British Colubia (TLC) and served as vice president for the organization’s first 5 years. In 2004, he chaired the “Water in the City” Conference, an international conference on water sustainabiity. In 2002, I was elected to Saanich Council and continue to serve in that capacity. I’m also a Capital Regional District (CRD) Director, Vice Chair of the Regional Water Supply Commission and a member of the Core Area Liquid Waste Committee, the group responsible for implementing sewage treatment. < What students liked about his interview>
